What’s your brand? Your personal brand, that is! Often defined as characteristics of an individual, rendered into a “differentiated narrative,” a personal brand can help you establish an advantage in minds of a target audience. However, personal branding for employees in STEM fields, especially women, can bring in extra layers of complexity. Technical community has traditionally viewed engaging in self-promotion with disdain and feels that your ‘brand’ is largely a projection of your qualifications and competence and should speak for itself. There are certainly times when "do good work" can suffice – but there are times that warrant more intentionality. Against the backdrop of her own journey, and with examples from her accomplished career, Jayshree (SWE Highest Achievement Award Winner) will share a simple framework from her new #HeartofScienceBook (Engineering Blueprint, published by SWE) to build your own personal brand and help spotlight your talent and thrive in your roles.
Join us for an exclusive signing event after the session! Jayshree will be personally autographing her latest book, The Heart of Science: Engineering Blueprint, in the SWE Boutique, 11:15 a.m - 1:15 p.m. Only 100 copies are available for signing.
