Leading From the Back: Cultivating Lifelong Leadership Skills

This session explores how to develop leadership skills from the very beginning of one's career. Speakers will discuss how leadership should be incorporated into every position regardless of their level within an organization. They will discuss leading by example, principles of peer leadership, followership, and how to speak up when necessary. Speakers will discuss their military experience and how they developed into the leaders they are today.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the importance of incorporating leadership early in your career.
  • Explain how to be an effective listener and lead by example.
  • Develop effective leadership skills that require teamwork.
