Being out in the workplace can be a source of constant anxiety. It is often the first thing we think about when encountering a difficulty in the workplace. The self-questioning can be relentless, "was this because I'm trans?" In this talk we will discuss how to manage the self doubt, how to evaluate the safety of a workplace critically and objectively, how to deconstruct trans-centered conflict, and the importance of a growth mindset. We will outline strategies of how to thrive in the proper environment and list examples of how to leverage structures such as employee resource groups to increase personal visibility and develop cross-functional relationships.
