The BD Brachytherapy facility is a center of excellence where cutting-edge medical technology converges with precision and compassion. Their core activities include manufacturing radioactive implants used in brachytherapy, a specialized form of prostate cancer treatment. These tiny radioactive “seeds” (the size of a grain of rice) containing the radioisotope Iodine-125 are assembled using automated machinery in an inert gas environment. The facility ensures rigorous quality control throughout the production processes, adhering to safety protocols for handling and disposal of radioactive materials while maintaining compliance to FDA standards for permanent medical implants. Additionally, patient-specific orders are filled corresponding to a physician dose plan. These orders are then shipped directly from our facility to hospitals around the world with a patient name on every order. Ultimately, the work at the BD Brachytherapy facility directly impacts patients’ lives, offering hope and healing in the fight against prostate cancer.
Come visit our facility to see how ‘We Cure Cancer’ every day.
