Margarita is a pioneering business and engineering executive at Volvo Group. She has over twenty years industry leadership in advanced and electric powertrains, fuel cells, EV and hydrogen infrastructure, and verification and validation. She currently heads the North America team in Complete Vehicle Features, Product Management, and Fleet Operations. Margarita began her career at the California Fuel Cell Partnership in 2005, developing the first retail hydrogen stations. In 2007, she became vehicle engineer in General Motors’ Fuel Cell Project Driveway. She held multiple leadership positions in GM Electrification: home charger installations; electric motor calibrations; and design responsible for the Chevrolet Bolt EV electric motor. She grew the GM Fuel Cell Business by developing hardware engineering, managing the GM-Honda fuel cell co-development, and overseeing business operations. Margarita is an inventor of seven hydrogen fuel cell patents, mobile chargers and power generators. She is passionate about encouraging women to pursue STEM careers.
