Hang Loi is an engineering leader, STEM advocate, DEIB champion, philanthropic Board member, and global citizen. In 34 years with 3M she led commercialization programs from concept through production-scale manufacturing, bringing to life products that brighten consumer electronics screens and increase pedestrian safety. Hang has been recognized with SWE’s Advocating Women in Engineering, Prism, and Patent Recognition Awards. In 2022 Hang completed a fellowship with the United Nations Global Diplomacy Institute and published the paper “Advancing Gender Equity through Intellectual Property Rights.” A self-confessed fan of financial-management and stock market “stalker,” she achieved financial independence in her 50s and believes everyone should be “in-the-know” when it comes to their own finances, especially women. Hang holds chemical engineering and music degrees from Case Western Reserve University. She is on the Board of Directors of the school’s Alumni Foundation.
