Kara Branch is the visionary Founder and CEO of Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation, an award-winning national nonprofit founded in June 2019 and headquartered in Houston, TX. Known as "The Ivy League of Nonprofits," Black Girls Do Engineer is dedicated to empowering girls ages 6-21 in STEM fields through mentoring, STEM projects, and career guidance. Kara, a notable leader with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and an Executive MBA, was inspired by her daughter’s dream of becoming a software engineer. With over eight years in the Oil & Gas, Space industries, and Tech industries, Kara has led major innovative projects and served in several leadership roles for Fortune 100 companies, earning her numerous accolades, including Mentor of the Year and the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. As an author and STEM advocate, Kara's work continues to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators.
