Bhavya Surapaneni is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Systems Engineering with minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Music. She serves as Advocacy Director on Penn’s SWE Board and is passionate about advocacy for underrepresented minorities, leadership, and building a strong community of women in technology. She has engaged in music for most of her life, playing the violin, oboe, guitar, and singing choral and Indian classical music from a young age. Bhavya is passionate about using music as a creative outlet and an emotional tool to better understand the world around her. Additionally, Bhavya is a project lead for her university's chapter of Engineers Without Borders, serves on her university's student government representing the engineering school, is an engineer on the Jet Propulsion Team, and competes on Penn's debate team.
