After graduating as a chemical engineer from Rice University, Gabby pursued a career in oil and gas and joined a rotational program for new graduates in August 2019. Due to COVID, the rotational program was eliminated in July 2020 and the entire cohort of early career engineers was laid off. While Gabby applied to many process engineering roles, an offer for a supply chain analyst role in Ingredion’s rotational program intrigued her – she assumed she would spend one year in supply chain and then rotate back to a process engineering role. However, Gabby enjoyed the challenges of inventory management and supply planning and found the discipline fulfilling – while she never anticipated this career path in college, she completed three job rotations in supply chain and is now the Manager of Texture & Healthful Solutions Supply Planning.
