R&D Associate Director - Retired
Procter & Gamble
Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, United States
Mary T. Zeis has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked for Procter & Gamble in R&D for 31 years.
Mary’s early retirement journey began in 2003 when she attended a 2-day seminar on pre-retirement planning. She learned about retirement readiness, financial planning, and the importance of retiring “to” something, not “from” something. After the seminar, Mary learned all she could about investing and set her “magic number” of money needed to retire. She retired in 2009 at age 53.
After retirement, Mary focused on caring for her father who moved in with her, part-time consulting for her former company, and “paying it forward” as a volunteer leader with SWE. Mary was FY16 and FY17 Chair of SWE’s Outreach Committee and FY20 Chair of the SWENext Programs Committee. She is currently on the Leadership Coaching Committee.
Mary is a SWE Life member and SWE Fellow.
