Christiana Aguirre, originally from Brazil with a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University, has navigated a remarkable path in engineering. Her journey includes significant work with the Army Corps of Engineers in South Florida and a key role at Caterpillar Inc. as an Engineering Specialist for Engine Cooling and Lubrication Systems. Since joining SWE in 2014, her involvement has been impactful, serving on various committees and leading the Program Development Grants Committee in FY24. Her dedication has also shone brightly at the regional level with the SWE Central Illinois Professional Section, holding positions from Outreach Committee Chair to President, and now serving as Finance Committee Chair. Her dynamic leadership and commitment have significantly influenced the SWE community and its projects.
