Trisha Matthews is an engineer at General Motors with over ten years of experience in the automotive industry. She has a BSME from Florida International University and a MSME from Oakland University. She is passionate about creating a culture of inclusion in engineering spaces. Trisha is the Professional Development Chair for the SWE Disability Inclusion affinity group and the SWE Detroit K-8 Outreach Co-Chair for FY25. She also served for three years as Culture Lead for GMWomen+ (an employee resource group), where she developed and presented content around work-life balance, self-advocacy, and mental health to a membership base of four thousand employees. Trisha received an autism diagnosis at age 30. Reframing her collegiate and early professional career struggles around her diagnosis has allowed her to develop the tools she needs to thrive in the workplace. Her goal is to empower all women to succeed.
