Zubra Mutenyo is an Equipment Engineer at GlobalFoundries in Burlington, Vermont. She is a recent graduate from Clarkson University with a major in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Electrical Engineering. She was an international student who was born and raised in Uganda. She grew up in a community in which sharing food, helping the elderly, and taking care of children beyond adulthood was the norm. However, seeking financial, mental health, and academic support was highly stigmatized. After moving to America, she met various people from diverse backgrounds who lent her a helping hand enabling her to become the woman she is today. She learned how to ask for help in some situations but is still working on overcoming the negative stigma associated with asking for different kinds of help.
