Shela Joyce graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a BS in chemical engineering. As a student, when her summer internship plans fell through, she did not sit idle and pursued different volunteering opportunities. The skills she developed that summer helped her get her next internship. She now works for IPEX at the plant where she co-op'ed her senior year of university. At work, she enjoys facilitating improvement projects and taking on tasks outside of her job description in order to pursue continuous growth. Outside of work, Shela is the president of the North Alabama SWE professional section, and she enjoys volunteering in her free time.
