Andria is a biomedical engineer with 12 years of experience in Medical Device R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing. She currently works as a Senior Program Manager and Technical Lead in Combination Product Development R&D at AbbVie.
In 2021, she was unexpectedly impacted by a layoff at her previous employer and was unprepared for the ensuing job hunt and career transitions. Now happily settled into her new role at a new company, she hopes to share her story with others so they know the realities of being laid off and how to transition to their next role. She hopes openness about this experience will help lessen the stigma of being laid off and help attendees prepare for the unexpected.
Andria holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa and a Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science.
