Sarah Cooper has almost 20 years of experience in the medical device and pharma industry across Operations and R&D. She has been a people manager for years and is an Associate Director, Program Management in Combination Product Development at AbbVie. Three years ago, Sarah was managing a team of engineers and scientists who were impacted by a sudden layoff. She had to balance the toll of losing her own job while ensuring she provided support for her team emotionally and professionally. Having been at the company for a significant part of her career, this layoff was never something she expected. She learned valuable lessons through this experience, grew professionally, and hopes to share a different perspective as a manager and employee that others can find value in. Sarah received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Engineering Management from Northwestern University.
