In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), the gender divide in technology presents a formidable challenge to achieving gender equity. A pivotal 2022 report from UNESCO, OECD, and IDB reveals a persistent underrepresentation of women in STEM fields, with only 29% in global science R&D and marked disparities in AI literacy. This session aims to unravel the complex dynamics of AI biases and their impact on gender disparities. We will chart a course towards actionable solutions, emphasizing the critical roles of education reform, policy innovation, and the development of gender-neutral AI technologies.
