Opportunities to connect with others in academia and industry can happen at any time, especially at SWE conferences. Those connections are recognized as exciting and promising, but what comes next? Crickets. How do you get your new connections to evolve into amazing collaborations and friendships? In this session, unite to find potential collaborators through a facilitated activity. Learn techniques to make meaningful follow-through and apply those techniques to follow up in the future with someone you meet at WE24. With intention and the skills learned in this session, you can build lasting connections!

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a concise and interesting introduction to use when meeting new people.
  • Explain why follow-ups fail or succeed.
  • Create a plan to follow up with someone from WE24!
