More than one in seven people globally exhibits neurodivergence. In engineering fields, this number could be as high as one in three. Yet nearly half of tech employees keep their neurodivergence a secret. Many neurodiverse employees don't ask for the help they need in fear of limiting their future opportunities. Even without disclosing, behavioral differences can put neurodiverse employees at a disadvantage. This session will address the invisible barriers faced by neurodivergent engineers. You will learn practical tips for self-advocacy in the workplace, including how to use partial disclosure when communicating your needs. You will also learn how to recognize neurodiverse traits in others and leave empowered to create a more inclusive environment at work.
