When Change Finds You: How to Handle Organizational/Department Restructuring

What happens when changes come to your group? You didn’t choose to make a change, but you can choose how to react, and more importantly interact, with your new leader. The only constant is change. How we handle it can frame how a new leader sees us and how we fit into his/her vision of the future. Have a discussion with three seasoned leaders from various functions who have navigated through organizational changes small and large and have experienced 20+ managers in their careers. With all of these managers, we’ve learned some things about ourselves and about what works and doesn’t work. Learn tips for getting to know your new leader and how you can quickly make meaningful contributions to the new team.

  • Describe how to go in with confidence to a new leadership situation.
  • Identify methods of communicating with new leaders.
