Empowering Futures: Mentoring College Students Through Self-Discovery and Professional Growth

As college women venture into the challenging study of engineering, fostering a supportive environment is crucial to their success. In this session we will delve into the importance of why mentorship is essential for women college students. We’ll highlight how mentorship can facilitate connections, provide guidance, and cultivate an environment for their personal and professional growth. Participants will learn about the structure and objectives of our own University of Dayton WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) mentoring program. We’ll explore the various activities involved in the program, including small group mentoring sessions, professional learning opportunities, and monthly social activity and examine how they have contributed to the growth of our women students.
