During my day, I design tractors. I focus on making sure everything is technically correct, all the bits and pieces fit together, and that we have a functional model to build from. In my free time, I am an aerialist. In my training, I learned to focus on precision, creativity, and letting go of fears. Much of my training has translated into my engineering work: how to safely fail, how to trust your team, how timing is imperative, and how adding your touch takes something from average to amazing! Learn how a simple hobby changed my mindset at work.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize important values for engineers that can be honed in the "outside world."
Illustrate how hobbies can translate to professional development.
