Materials Engineer Apple, Inc San Francisco, California, United States
This workshop aims to challenge students to think about the engineering and development of materials that create the products they use daily. Attendees will be presented with several case studies that introduce the fundamentals of product design, performance and reliability, and materials engineering techniques in glass and thin film engineering. We will ask attendees to consider how and where they use their electronics and how that leads to unique problems that can be solved with materials engineering expertise. These examples will walk students through a diverse set of engineering skills and materials science concepts to demonstrate what goes into making consumer products intuitive, functional, reliable, and delightful.
Learning Objectives:
List reliability requirements for consumer devices.
Describe ways to enable quality industrial design such as improved strength, texture, and color in consumer electronics.
