Nurturing Boys to Be Better Men

SWE’s mission of empowering women to reach their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders can only be successful if we work within a culture of equality and inclusion. To affect culture, we must start at the beginning: the children. In this session, we’re going to talk about the boys. Whether you have boys in your home or only occasionally spend time with them, you play an important role in influencing them. Dr. Shelly Vaziri Flais, mother of four and practicing pediatrician, recently published a book based on years of observation and first-hand experience in how our interactions with boys can affect their future behavior and mindset.
