As a faculty member, you may be trying to start up a new research program. This can be very challenging if you don't have a lot of financial resources, but it's definitely not impossible! At this session, you'll hear from faculty members who have successfully started research programs in resource-challenged situations. Learn how to identify free data sources and tools, how to use low-cost hardware, including RC Cars, Legos, and Shrinky Dinks, or supplies that are already available at your institution, how to recruit and reward students to work on your projects, and how to identify publication venues that won't break the bank.
